New ZFA-F system component:
Module 18/12 Alternative communication modes   (28/07/2010)

By using different communication modes at remote meter reading the number of faulty readings is being reduced and consequently the costs for additional connection attempts as well.

However, different modes to communicate with the measuring point or the measuring point modem are not sufficient to save costs and receive a high reliability. An intelligent, automatic function for managing and executing the communication modes is mandatory necessary.

Module 18/12 organizes the different communication modes automatically in order to minimize the failure rate and to reduce the connection costs to the single metering points.

Detailed information for this module is provided in our customer area under product information. Test this module for free: license-management@itf-edv.de

ITF-EDV presents its latest software solutions at the
Fröschl Workshop 2010   (09/06/2010)

ITF-EDV Fröschl introduced its most innovative software solutions for controlling, optimizing and simplifying meter reading processes for industrial customers as well as for residential customers.

Hofenstetten, Germany - 11th and 12th May 2010 -
ITF-EDV invited to the annual Workshop in Hofenstetten to inform its national and international customers and interested parties about the solutions in the field of Smart Meter. New laws and a change of the market situation make it necessary to „modernize“ and extend the ZFA-F software to meet the new requirements.

Almost 60 representatives of reputable energy suppliers accepted the invitation. ITF-EDV could persuade them of its successful work in the past months.

The visitors could not only inform themselves about innovations concerning ZFA-F - the approved solution for meter reading but could also get an overview of the developments in the field of Smart Meter.

One of the highligths presented at the ITF-EDV Workshop 2010 was the new communication server SCS which offers an integrated switching center to support all facets of IP communication and the Web Portal which visualizes present consumption data of residential customers.

Another highlight was the guest lecture of E.ON Netz GmbH about the successful performance certification of ZFA-F in the field of „Reading Smart Meter devices“.

This event clearly demonstrated that ITF-EDV Fröschl GmbH is the right software partner for a common future in the energy branch.

A new book: "Smart Metering"    (10/11/2009)

By next year new laws in the energy industry will have an impact on the companies' fields of measurement technique, billing periods and tariffs. Strictly speaking, the new legislature does not oblige you to use Smart Metering. But how could you otherwise efficiently meet the legislative demands?

The authors of "Smart Metering - Technologische, wirtschaftliche und juristische Aspekte des Smart Metering" deal with this question and related topics. ITF-EDV Fröschl GmbH also contributed to this book in the form of Mr. Paul Knott,  who discusses the "Challenges to meter data management systems".

Iclient - Security certification received by art of defence GmbH    (15/10/2009)

We extended our web application iClient, which has been successfully used for years, to make it even more safer than it has been. Although it could not be proved that iClient ever encountered attacks, we have worked hard on the security issue to be able to install up-to-date safety measures.

How can we guarantee that our measures are safe?

By our order the art of defence Ltd. checked our web application iClient for security vulnerabilities and rated it "secure". Attacks on the iClient (e.g. attacks with SQL Injection or Cross-Site-Scripting) via the Internet remained unsuccessful.

The art of defence Ltd. is all over Europe the only company to offer security products for web applications that take care of the whole life cycle of an application. Leading banks, financial service providers and E-Commerce corporations entrust art of defence with the protection of their internal and external web applications and thus meet legal requirements and industry standards like the safety guidelines of the credit card industry (PCI compliance).
